Where Will Jehovah be When He Returns?
We will find the answer in Zechariah 14:3-4-5, “Then shall the LORD (Jehovah) go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the mist thereof toward the east and towards the west, and there shall be a very great valley; — and you (the Jews) shall flee to the valley of the mountains; —- and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.”
For the prophecy to be fulfilled, Jerusalem and Israel would have to exist. Also, the Jews would have to be back in their land. This happened on May 14, 1948. The Romans, in 135 A.D., renamed Israel Palestine. The name Palestine stood for 1813 years until May 14, 1948.
Jehovah fought for Israel against the Egyptians at the Red Sea Exodus 14-15. The LORD divided the Red Sea so the Jews could escape the armies of the Pharaoh. When he returns, Zechariah tells us that Jehovah will divide the Mount of Olives so the Jews will have a way to escape the approaching antichrist and his armies.
Now let’s compare the above with,
Acts 1:9, “And when he (Jesus) had spoken these things, while they (the apostles) beheld, he (Jesus) was taken up: and a cloud received him out of their sight.”
Verse 11, suddenly two men appear and tell the apostles, “Why stand you gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.”
Hold on one minute: Zechariah said Jehovah is coming back, and his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives. Then, 500 years later, Luke tells us it’s Jesus who shall return to the same place and in the same manner he left. And that it was Jesus, then called Jehovah, who divided the Red Sea, and in the same manner, it will be Jesus who divides the Mount of Olives, giving the Jews a way to escape.
Jesus’s ascension in Acts 1 shall be the place of His return; He will come from the east (Matthew 24:27.) He made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives on the east (Matthew 21). This was the place of his agony: so, it shall be the scene of his glory.
Ezekiel 11:32, “And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city (Jerusalem). And stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.”
Ezekiel 43:2, “And behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east; and his voice was like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.”
