Serving two masters:
Matthew 6:24, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (money).”
Throughout recorded history, whatever it is that men have built, all have, or will one day crumble and fall. If one should pass by an automobile junk yard, take notice of the hundreds of crushed cars, one laying upon another. Every one of them was, at one time some-ones dream car, but now, nothing but a pile of crushed metal.
If one should travel to the ancient cities of the world, take note of the crumbling structures and fallen walls that had been built by what was once a proud and mighty people, conquers of nations; but now, nothing but rubble covered with moss and vines. Go to the inner city of Detroit and take note of the decay and degeneration of buildings and warehouses of the once thriving auto industry.
In Acts 17:23, Paul said to men of Athens on Mars Hill,
“As I passed by, and beheld your worship, I found an altar with this inscription, to the unknown God. Whom therefore you ignorantly (without knowing) worship, him declare I unto you.”
Narcissism, is to dwell on one’s own self and one’s own attainments, in short, “it’s self-love.” Have we, speaking mostly of Americans, fallen in love with ourselves, with our lifestyles and with all the new scientific and technological accomplishments that are said to make life more pleasurable.
How smart have we become? And in the process, how far have we fallen?” Have men and women of science, of sports, of politics, of religion become our new spiritual leaders, the unknown gods of Mars Hill?
Sadly, in most cases the people of many nations have traded away the things of God for the things of this world, and in so doing, have taken upon their shoulders the yoke of bondage. Many of the European and Asian nations, England, France, Germany, Russia, certain Middle Eastern nations; Canada, countries in South American and now America, have for the most part turned their back on God.
Scientists and technology gurus have become our new high priests, and many there are that blindly follow after them. And what’s it all about? It’s all about money and power, the power to control every aspect of every citizen’s life.
For the most part, those with the wealth have the power to determine what the scientist, politicians and religious leaders are to say and do, and they will also determine who the high priests and controllers shall be. All others are not permitted to take part in these discussions, speaking of people like you and me.
The “science” of Nazi Germany attempted to prove that Germans were the master race, and in the end, 30 to 50 million died and many other millions displaced. Communism under Joseph Stalin was the idea of Carl Marx. The theory brings all the property and goods of the working class under the control of a central government. It was successful, but, some 40 to 50 million Russians payed for it with their lives. This is Bernie Sanders idea of government for America.
Evolution, the theory of men like Charles Darwin and others has cost millions upon millions their eternal soul. To agree with Darwin’s theory is to call God a liar because they will have to deny the following.
Genesis 1:1, “In the Beginning God created the heaven the earth.” With, Genesis 2:2, “on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.”
Six days of creation and nothing more! If you cannot wrap your trust and faith around these two verses, you can toss your Bible into the trash can, because nothing else would make sense.
Every Sunday around the country the football stadiums are full to capacity, but Christian churches, for the most part are emptying out. Every Monday morning, sport fans have their new hero’s, hero’s they can bow their knee to and give honor and glory.
What quarter-back passed for the most yards? who ran for the most touchdowns? who pitched a perfect game? who ran the fastest 100 Meter race? all the above are given honor by their fanatic fans. And what about the Lord Jesus who gave His life for every man women and child of us? Never is there a word written in any major newspapers, or mentioned on radio or Television concerning His achievements at the cross and resurrection.
The Scriptures have warned us as to what is coming and what to expect in the last days.
2 Thessalonians 2:3, “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away (an apostacy) first,”
So, one may ask, “is science and technology settled and God not?” My answer; most of mankind has become a slave to the material things of this world, coveting whatever their eyes focus on, and depending on what their pocketbooks can, and many times cannot afford. There is nothing on this earth, in the sea, or below that is worthy of our total love and devotion except the Lord Jesus. It would be better to die with nothing except God’s love rather than to possess all the riches of this world.
The Lord Jesus asked the apostil Peter, “do you love me?” Now, ask ourselves that same question. Do I love the Lord more then the things of this world or even my own life?
Let’s now move on to another subject, Slavery. Slavery has in many ways changed its form, yet has remained the same. It continues to destroy the lives of some 20 to 40 million people each year and in every country of the world.
Those who are enslaved or in servitude around the world are forced to work through coercion, physical threat, abuse or the treat of abuse. Most are dehumanized and treated as one would treat a commodity being bought or sold as property.
Many are being forced into prostitution; others are forced to work in agriculture or construction, others in sweatshops; young girls are forced to marry men 2 or 3 times older than they are, and both young boys and girls are exploited in other ways. Their lives are controlled by their exploiters, they no longer possess the gift God gave us all, a free will to make our own choices. They do as they are told, nothing more, nothing less.
Speaking in the language of today, there exploiters are sex masters (pimps), drug dealers, and in most cases their victims are helpless, unwilling or have no understanding of the consequences; that is, unless the person being exploited is motived by drugs or money.
The politics of a nation play a large part in all this. Here in America, the Democratic party is now using a technique once called the Willie Lynch technique. It was a method for controlling slaves by dividing them, turning one against the other.
The Democratic party has taken full advantage of this technique. For one vote, they will turn one American citizen against another, one party against another. Their reasoning; first divide, then conquer. They have turned the heart of their party into a socialist thinking entity, hating with a passion the President of the United States, Donald Trump and every one of his supporters.
Their goal is not to unite the people, but to divide, control, then to destroy that one force that prevents them, Christianity!
Revelation 17:1-6, John writes, “I will show unto you the judgment of the great whore (Satan’s bride) that sits upon many waters: with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet-colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns (leaders of the world). And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, mystery, Babylon the great, the mother of harlots and the abominations of the earth. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus:”
The devil knows, once Christianity is taken out of the way, Israel will fall. It’s all connected, the devil is the dragon, his bride? the “whore of Babylon” who rides upon his back.
Democrats have perfected other ways for dividing the people, mainly by race, gender and skin color. Another is by life style, as in their support for all homosexual activity. This is in direct conflict with the will of God for the people of the world. God’s will is for one man to marry one woman, not, one man with another man, or one woman with another woman.
Other aspects of their agenda is to turn the poor and middle classes against the wealthy; also, to create a divide between women and men. Then there’s the right of a woman to choose. A woman does have the right to choose, that is, to give birth to the child she carries in her womb, but not to take its life. To choose the later, is murder.
The simple answer to this is, “don’t get pregnant,” that’s where a woman’s choice ends. Why? because every woman does have the ways and means to prevent getting pregnant. But once they do, be it by accident, by choice or by chance, it’s God’s will to give that unborn child a chance for life, and not the womans to take it.
Then there’s the issue of the Democrats push for gun control. Communism and socialism would strip the public of the right to bear arms for the sole purpose of controlling a population that cannot fight back. History proves that out many times over. The citizens of Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania and others were unable to defend themselves against the German onslaught in World War 2.
Democrats that lean toward socialism would redistribute the wealth of the American people; open our borders to everyone and anyone, friend or foe, it, making no difference to them. And with open borders comes sanctuary cities. Politicians who allow this are getting away with breaking federal laws and in my estimation should be arrested. Como of New York, Newsome of California and others.
These corrupt politicians are releasing criminals of every sort into the public, there putting the average citizen in harms way, and without the means to defend themselves with their policies of strict gun control. Also, these same politicians have turned their backs on their local police force, and on those who work for the federal government, as in I.C.E. They will not and do not stand with, or behind the law, choosing only to obstruct it in any manner they can. And to top all that off, these political thugs are releasing violent criminals and gangs from jails, back into the streets.
All the above is causing a divide between the citizens of America, all are destructive, all fall into the category of corruption; of disobedience to law; and all are crimes against society, nature and God.
Now, let’s view what’s around the corner. It’s another form of slavery, alcohol and drugs. No person can serve the Lord Jesus Christ and these two addictions. Drugs of every sort and alcohol are affecting millions upon millions of people around the world, and in many cases, have driven a wedge between God and those who deal and use.
What sort of drugs am I speaking of? Amphetamines, Methadone, Nicotine, Alcohol, Cocaine, Crystal meth, Heroin, Barbiturates, Buprenorphine, Cannabis and the like.
These drugs have become the master over millions of people, and is directly responsible for thousands taking their own life or the lives of others. Drugs have become the master, the ruler, the director of lives. They will own you and then destroy you. Those who take part in these vices will become slaves to these vices and the property of others.
Now let’s examine a verse found in Mark 12:30-31, “You shall love the LORD God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is — you shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
The above is the language of law, expressive of the LORD’s claims. So, what is it that man is required to do? I suppose one word can best express the LORD’S sentiments on the subject, “LOVE,” and for our part, two words, love and faith. Love, is an all-inclusive affection, and the most powerful of our affections. God’s love in the Greek is called, “agape love.” Our God is the author and source of this love, and who is Himself, love. We must trust God in all things; we must also love God with all our heart, our soul and with all our power.
We have entered the last of the last days. The devil and his disciples are on the attack. Lies and false promises, fear not love, doubt not truth, confusion without direction, all are the weapons of God’s enemies. Yes, the time is short, the dangers are real, therefore, all Christians who love the Lord Jesus Christ must stand together as one body in truth, in faith and in love.
Galatians 1:10, Paul wrote, “For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.”
