Milk-Fed Christians

Milk-Fed Christians:

Vital statistics: 70.6% of polled American adults identify themselves as Christian in 2014. This is down from 86% in 1990, lower than 78.6% in 2001, and slightly lower than 73% in 2012. Conclusion, were in a death spiral.

Christianity in America has fallen nearly 8 % in the past seven years. In this same period, Americans having no religious affiliations grew from 16% to 23%. Some fifty-six million Americans observe no religion. This makes it,  the second largest community after Evangelicals.

Yet it’s claimed that America remains the home of more Christians than any other nation on earth. But, let’s smooth this 70% number out a little more. Let’s remove all who deny the Deity of Jesus Christ, meaning, “He is God manifest (come) in the flesh;” add to this, those who deny the existence of the Holy Spirit; who deny the finished work of the cross; who deny His death, burial and resurrection; God’s miracles such as the 6 days of creation, the flood etc.; also, those who deny the obvious fact that Israel and the Jews are still in God’s plan of redemption.

Also, the cults adding false doctrines to the Word; the denial of a Rapture or catching away of the church; of the 7 years of tribulation, of heaven and of hell, and on and on it goes.

In the West, the “nones,” meaning those who claim to have no religion, now make up 28% of that public; in the South, the “nones rose to 19%, and in the Northeast it’s about 25%.

Those having no religion have become increasingly organized since 2007, forming political groups designed to keep religion out of every aspect of public life, this renegade group holds a great deal of political clout. Most are Democrats, for they are the party that holds to the A.C.L.U. abortion, gays, gay marriage, socialism, etc.

Now, let me estimate; after we remove all the above, that 70% would drop to 30 or 35% who are of the true faith; those who are bearers of the Light of the Gospel message.

So, what’s the problem, who’s to blame?

We can blame the cults, secularist, drugs, booze, internet, Hollywood, or the general moral decline in our youth, and in our society as a whole. Are these all reasonable excuses? I guess! But none of the above are the main cause.

Why, because we have the Holy Spirit sent by Jesus Christ to teach and guide us! He is bigger than all the above combined, therefore, what possible excuse remain? The enemies of the cross have infiltrated the walls of our churches. Let me add to the obvious enemies, it’s lazy pastors and teachers, those who fail to teach the WHOLE of Scripture.

Oh’ how sick and tired I am of going to church on Sunday, or to a Sunday school Bible study and the Preacher of Sunday school teacher goes over and over and over the same thing, time after time, after time. Scripture can better explain this condition.

Hebrews 5:11, “For when the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles (word) of God; and are become such as have need of (more) milk, and not of strong meat (nutriment for the mind, instruction).”

Principles here mean the philosophy, especially of the Jewish religion in contrast with Christianity, as the mere rudiments of the faith.

1 Corinthians 3:2, Paul said to the church at Corinth, “I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto you were not able to bear it, neither YET now are you able.”

Jesus said his disciples in,

John 16:12, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the (Holy) Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:” we have the Holy Spirit and most act as if He’s a million miles away.

Most church goer’s have received the first principles of Christianity, but yet remain as babes being fed on milk as would a child. Preachers and teachers have forgotten how to consult and consider the capacity of those who sit in the Pews. All members appear to be treated as children. How sad it is: there are those sitting in the Pews who should be teaching the Word, and the Pastor and/or Sunday school teachers sitting in the Pews.

My advice to pastors; when a new person comes to your church, take him or her aside and ask questions that will give you a better insight as to where they are, or what his or her understanding of Scripture is. If what they know can be used to teach others, use them, what’s the difference?

If new to your church, after all they’re part of the body of Christ no matter what church they attend.  Spent time answering any and all questions a person may have. How can a tree bear fruit if it isn’t watered and nourished?

So, who’s to blame for their flock’s stagnation? It’s the so-called shepherds of the flock, and including the adult Christian men and women who themselves are utterly to blame for not growing in the word, choosing to remain children being fed on milk.

Islam, and those having no faith are coming to America, their banging down the doors. Politicians have chosen for the most part to integrate the people of the world who worship idols with those who worship the one true God, Jesus Christ. It doesn’t work, and never has. “for our God is a jealous God.”

God’s wrath, and his vengeance are not to be mocked or ignored. If we Christians don’t get busy soon, it will be too late, the doors will be closed as they were with the Jews. Jesus said, “Behold, your house is left unto you desolate” meaning abandoned by God. Not because He abandoned them, because they abandoned Him!
