Abominations against the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit?

The word abomination means extreme hatred or detestation.

“It is an abomination unto the Lord.” this phrase is frequently found in the Bible.

SIN IS AN ABOMINATION:

Sin, in general, is the opposite of the Lord’s perfections and law and is always the object of God’s awful and unchangeable displeasure.

Proverbs 8:7, “Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.”

Proverbs 3:32, “For the froward (perverse person) is abomination to the LORD.”

Proverbs 15:8, “The sacrifice = (both human and animal sacrifices) of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD.”

Proverbs 15:9 says, “The way (the course people choose for their lives, lifestyle, or mode of actions) of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD.”

Proverbs 15:26 says, “The thoughts (a persons imagination, inventiveness, means, and purpose) of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD.”

Wickedness, in general, is hated, as is perversity, and the false sacrifices offered in a religious context, the evil lifestyles, and even the thoughts of the wicked are an abomination toward God.

Furthermore, to profess to be an Atheist and humanistic beliefs, views, and values, whether held at the individual level, having no faith in God, or on an organizational level (communist, socialist, fascist, and now today in America, the liberal Democratic party with their platforms on abortion, homosexuality, their loyalty to Islam and not Christians, their attempts to take from schools all teaching of Jesus Christ, is truly an abomination unto the Lord.

Psalms 14:1, “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.”

UNNATURAL CRIMES

Leviticus 18:22, “Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion = (perversion).”

Leviticus 20:13 says, “If a man also lie with mankind, as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

Leviticus 20:15-16, “And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

Deuteronomy 28:15 says, “Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, (it is) an abomination unto the LORD.”

1 Kings 14:24, “And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.”

God’sreward for sin:

Romans 1:18, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness.”

Romans 1:19-21, “Because that which may be known of God is manifest (evident) in them: for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him (God) from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead (divine nature) so that they are without excuse.”

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain (futile) in their imaginations (thoughts) and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.”

Romans 1:24-26, “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. A-men. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature.”

Romans 1:27 “And likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly (shameful) and receiving in themselves that recompense (penalty) of their error which was meet (due).”

Romans 1:28: “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate (debased) mind, to do those things which are not convenient (fitting).”

Romans 1:32, “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure (approve of) in them that do them.”

Romans 2:8, “But unto them that are contentious (self-seeking), and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil.”

BEWARE OF THE ABOMINABLE:

Proverbs 1:15-18, “My son, walk not in the way with them (the evil): refrain thy foot from their path, for their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. Surely in vain the net is spread (for them). And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk prively for their own lives.”

Acts 20:28-29, “Take heed therefore unto yourselves…for I know this … grievious wolves (shall) enter in among you, not sparing the flock.”

1 Corinthians 5:6, “…know ye not that a little leaven = (yeast) leavens the whole lump?”

The Lord has warned us about adopting the practices of evil. What happens when grievous wolves do fall in among the flock?”

ABOMINANATION CREEP IN:

When Abraham came to the promised land, the original inhabitants, the Canaanites, etc., practiced all kinds of abominations:

Genesis 13:13, “The Men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD.”

A few generations later, Abraham’s descendants, the Israelites, settled in the land of Egypt. When they returned 400 years later, the Canaanites had fallen even lower in their vile practices.

Deuteronomy 18:9,” When you have come into the land which the Lord you God gives you, you shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations;” and

Deuteronomy 18:12 says, “For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations, the Lord doth drive them out before thee.”

They were to rid themselves of this evil. They were not to partake in these terrible practices.

Because God did not entirely remove the Canaanites from the land, over time, the Jews began to worship their gods. Israel now played the part of a whore.

GOD’S CHOSEN, THE JEWS BECOME THE REJECTED:

Jeremiah 44:22, “So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which you have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.”

Ezekiel 16:15. “But you did trust in your own beauty and played the harlot because of thy renown, and poured out your fornications on everyone that passed by.”

Ezekiel 16:50, “And they were haughty (the proud, the powerful, arrogant), and committed abomination before me.”

Israel had become a wicked society. They brought unbelief, perverse lifestyles, disobedience to God’s word, and worshipping the gods of other nations.

Question: What results did Israel reap? And what will the results be to other nations that defy Him?

TODAY’S NATIONS ARE BECOMING ABOMINABLE:

The once-Christian nations have now followed the Israelites’ way.

A nation is only as strong as its individuals, and our country is losing its strength. Those of true faith have grown weak in the eyes of God. The body of Jesus Christ is supposed to be one body under one head, but we have become fragmented.

We elect vile, abominable people into political office. We pray with and accept the prayers of those who hate Jesus Christ.

And if this is not enough, vile, abominable people promoting evil works are welcomed into our homes: godless, immoral, violent, detestable books, magazines, T.V., radio, and the internet.

We sent out the invitations, put out the welcome mat, set the tables, and passively sat back as these wicked, God-hating abominations came into our homes and destroyed our families, corrupting our children, churches, community, and nation.

ABOMINATIONS BECOMING WORSE:

2 Timothy 3:13, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.”

Titus 1:15, “Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.”

James 4:4, “You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of the world in enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”

2 Peter 2:6, “And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample (example) unto those that after should live ungodly.”

PROMISES TO THE ABOMINABLE:

Proverbs 17:15, “He that justifies the wicked, and He that condemns the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.”

Deuteronomy 28:16, “Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field.”

God shall curse our cities, our agriculture, our food supply, our water, our prayers, our offerings, our children, our cattle, our coming and going. He will turn nature loose on us. He will send us irritation, harassment, trouble, and confusion.

Do not be deceived; those who ignore God’s ways and corrupt His Gospel will suffer his punishment. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is unchanging, and so are His penalties.

America, if we continue to turn away from God, his promises for judgment shall come to pass. God will fill our minds, flesh, land, and material wealth with His judgments, darkness, and horrors. Our enemies will succeed in His direction if we turn away from Him as a nation and people.

ARE YOU ABOMINABLE?

Psalms 14:2-3, “The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy (corrupt) there is none that do good, no, not one.”

Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

All have sinned, and all sin is an abomination toward God which have adverse consequences:

Isaiah 59:2, “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that He will not hear (your prayers).”

What is the answer to the above question? Have we turned on our God and Savior? All have sinned, and all have fallen short of the glory of God. Our sins separate us from God.

THE ABOMINABLE WILL BE PUNISHED:

Revelation 21:8, “The fearful (the cowardly) and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers (sexually immoral), and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Revelation 21:10 John wrote, there came to him an angel, and “He carried me away in the spirit to a great height mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.

Verse 27: There shall in no wise (no one shall) enter into it anything that defiles (pollute), neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie.”

THE SOLUTION TO OUR ABOMINATION:

Romans 5:12: “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned.”

The solution was Jesus, the pure and spotless Lamb of God.

1 Peter 3:18, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened (made alive) by the Spirit.”

Hebrews 9:28, “So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many…”

Those who receive Christ will be washed clean of their filthy abominations. Those who reject Jesus’ offering of salvation will remain

drenched in sin, heading into eternal punishment.

Jesus said, John 8:24, “I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sins; for if you believe not that I am he, you shall die in your sins.”

OUR NATURAL BODIES MADE FOR CHRIST:

We must be holy as God is holy. We must view evil with sorrow, pain, and suffering in both our minds and hearts.

Therefore, because God is holy, Christians must be holy, viewing any form of abomination as God views it, opposing it, avoiding it, and hating it. Christians must be of the same mind and have the same inflexible firmness.

Romans 12:9, “Abhor (hate, despise) that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”

1 Corinthians 6:13 and 15, “Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord: and the Lord for the body… know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of the harlot?”

1 Corinthians 6:16, “Know ye not that he which is joined to a harlot is one body? For two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17, but he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.”

Regarding our sin, in any form, especially the sin most prominent in our own lives, let us as Christians act as though we believe the words of God’s salvation and walk the course with eyes open, ears that hear, and a God-fearing people. Indeed, we have been purchased with the blood of Christ, therefore give thanks, and glorify God.

ABOMINATION OR HOLINESS:

We each have a choice to make:

The believer must choose to walk as one purchased by Christ. But if you continue to walk in your abominations, then beware.

Proverbs 12:28, “The heart of fools proclaims foolishness.”

Proverbs 13:19, “It is an abomination to fools to depart from evil.”

Proverbs 14:8, “The folly of fools is deceit.”

Proverbs 14:9, “Fools make a mock at sin.”

Proverbs 14:16 says, “The fool rages and is confident.”

James 1:8, “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

John 7:49, “But this people who know not the law are cursed.”

2 Timothy 3:7, “Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Indeed, all sin is an abomination in God’s eyes. God hates and detests our sins. But Jesus has certainly allowed each to be washed clean.

We all have a choice:

We can bring down upon ourselves destruction or allow Jesus Christ to rule over us. His guidance will bring holiness, peace, and a place in His Kingdom.

Jeremiah 44:4, “Do not this abominable thing which I hate.”
