(I) ABOMINATION DEFINED

The word abomination means "extreme hatred, or detestation."

"It is an abomination unto the Lord." this phrase is frequently found in the Bible.

(II) SIN IS AN ABOMINATION

Sin, in general, is the opposite of the Lord's perfections and law, and is always the object of God's awful and unchangeable displeasure; sin is an abomination.

Prov.8:7, "Wickedness = (departure from God's law) is an abomination to my lips."

Prov.3:32, "For the froward = (perverse person) is abomination to the LORD."

Prov.15:8, "The sacrifice = (human, animal, grain, fruit sacrifices, as well as the offering of good wooks, incense, money) of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD."

Prov.15:9, "The way = (the course people choose for their lives, lifestyle, or their mode of actions) of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD."

Prov.15:26, "The thoughts = (a persons imagination, inventiveness, means, and purpose) of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD."

From the above, wickedness in general is hated, as is perversity, and the false sacrifices offered in a religious context, the evil lifestyles, and even the thoughts of the wicked are an abomination toward God.

Furthermore to have athiestic and/ or humanistic beliefs, views, and values, whether held at the individual level(no belief in God) or on an organizational level (communist, socialist, facist parties or ACLU, NOW, NARAL, etc) is abominable:

Ps.14:1, "The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good."

(III) UNNATURAL CRIMES

Lev.18:22, "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion = (perversion)."

Lev.20:13, "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

Lev.20:15-16, "And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

Deut.28:15, "Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, (it is) an abomination unto the LORD."

1 K.14:24, "And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel."

(IV) THE REWARD FOR BEING ABOMINABLE

Rom.1:18, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness."

Rom.1:19-21, "Because that which may be known of God is manifest = (evident) in them: for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him = (God) from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead = (divine nature) so that they are without excuse.
"Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain = (futile) in their imaginations = (thoughts) and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools."

Rom.1:24-26, "Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. A-men.
For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature."

Rom.1:27 "And likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly = (shameful) and receiving in themselves that recompense = (penalty) of their error which was meet = (due)."

Rom.1:28 "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate = (debased) mind, to do those things which are not convenient = (fitting)."

Rom.1:32, "Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure = (approve of) in them that do them."

Rom.2:8, "But unto them that are contentious = (self-seeking), and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil."

(V) BEWARE OF THE ABOMINABLE

Prov.1:15-18, "My son, walk not in the way with them (the evil): refrain thy foot from their path, for their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. Surely in vain the net is spread (for them). And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk prively for their own lives."

Acts 20:28-29, "Take heed therefore unto yourselves...for I know this ... grievious wolves (shall) enter in among you, not sparing the flock."

1 Cor.5:6, "...know ye not that a little leaven = (yeast) leaveneth the whole lump?"

Believers are warned about the influence of adopting the practices of the evil. What does happen when grievous wolves do fall in among the flock

(VI) ABOMINANATION CREEPETH IN

When Abraham had come to the promised land, the original inhabitants, the Canaanites, etc practiced all kinds of abominations:

Gen.13:13, "The Men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD."

A few generations later, Abraham's descendants, the Israelites settled in the land of Egypt. When they returned 400 years later the Canaanites had had fallen to an even lower level in their vile practices.

Deut.18:9, " When thou art come into the land which the lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations;" and

Deut.18:12, "For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominationsthe Lord doth drive them out before thee."

They were to rid themselves of this evil. They were not to partake of these abominable practices, and any one who did so, was to be put to death.

The Canaanites were not fully removed from the land, and over time the Jews began to worship their gods. Israel now played the part of a whore.

(VII) GOD'S CHOSEN BECOME THE REJECTED

Jer.44:22, "So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day."

Ez.16:15. "But thou didst trust in thine own beauty and playest the harlot because of thy renown, and pourest out thy fornications on everyone that passed by."

Ez.16:50, "And they were haughty = (the proud, the powerful, arrogant), and committed abomination before me."

Israel had become a wicked society. They brought unbelief, perverse life styles, disobedience to God's word, and worshipping the gods of other nations.

Question, What results did Israel reap? and what will the results be to other nations that defy Him?

(VIII) TODAY'S NATIONS ARE BECOMING ABOMINABLE

America, Canada, and Europe, once strong Christian nations, are now following the ways of the Israelites.

A nation is only as strong as it's individuals, and our nation losing its strength, the individual Christian, and the church are weaking in the eyes of God. Todays Christians, welcome all forms of paganism into their homes.
We elect vile abominable people into political office. We accept these same type of people as to lead us in worship.
If that were not enough, vile abominable people, promoting evil works, are welcomed into our homes via. godless, immoral, violent, detestable books, magazines, televisions, radio, and inter-net, etc.

We sent out the invitations, put out the welcome mat, set the tables, and passively sit back as these wicked paganistic God-hating abominations come into our homes and destroy our families, corrupting our children, our churches, our communit and our nation.

(IX) ABOMINATIONS WILL GROW WORSE

2 Tim.3:13, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived."

Titus 1:15, "Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled."

James 4:4, "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world in enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."

2 Pet.2:6, "And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample = (example) unto those that after should live ungodly."

(X) PROMISES TO THE ABOMINABALE

Prov.17:15, "He that justifieth the wicked, and He that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD."

Deut.28:16, "Cursed shall thou be in the city, and cursed shall thou be in the field."

God shall curse our cities, our agriculture, our food supply, our water, our prayers, our offerings, our children, our cattle, our coming and going. He will turn nature loose on us. He will send us irritations, harassments, troubles, and confusion. Cursed will be that we do, until all is destroyed.

Do not be deceived. Those that ignore God's ways, and corrupt His Gospel, will indeed be punished. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is unchanging, and so are His punishments.

America is beginning to see God's promises for judgment come to pass. God will fill our minds, flesh, land and wealth with his judgments, darkness and horror. Our enemies can succeed at the direction of God, if we turn away from Him.

(XI) ARE YOU ABOMINABLE?

Ps.14:2-3, "The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy = (corrupt) there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

Rom.3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

All have sinned, and all sin is an abomination toward God which have adverse consequences:

Isa.59:2 But your iniquities have seperated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that He will not hear (your prayers).

What is the answer to the above question, are you abominable? All have sinned, all have fallen short of the glory of God. Our sins do separate us from God.

(XII) ABOMINABLE WILL BE PUNISHED

Rev.21:8, "The fearful = (the cowardly) and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers = (sexually immoral), and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Rev.21:10 John wrote, there came to him an angel, and "He carried me away in spirit to a great height mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.

Verse 27, There shall in no wise = (no one shall) enter into it any thing that defileth = (pollute), neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie."

All have fallen short, all are abominable, therefore no one could enter into heaven. "Rev. 21:27, "There shall in no wise = (way) enter into it = (heaven) any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie."

(XIII) THE SOLUTION TO OUR ABOMINATION

Because we are all abominable because we are all sinners, there is no way in or of ourselves that we could enter God's Holy places.

Rom.5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for all have sinned."

The solution was Jesus, the pure and spotless lamb of God.

1 Pet.3:18, "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to deathin the flesh, but quickened = (made alive) by the Spirit."

Heb.9:28 "So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many..."

Those who receive Christ, will be washed clean of their filthy abominations. Those who reject Jesus' offering of salvation, will remain in drenched in sin, heading into eternal punishment.

Jesus said, John 8:24, "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins; for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins."

(XIV) OUR NATURAL BODIES ARE MADE FOR CHRIST

One must be holy as God is holy. We must view evil with sorrow, with pain, and with suffering, in both our minds and our hearts.

Therefore, because God is holy; Christians must be holy, viewing any form of abomination as God views it; opposing it, avoiding it, and hating it. Christians must be of the same mind, and have the same inflexible firmness.

Rom.12:9, "Abhor = (hate, despise) that which is evil; cleave to that which is good."

1 Cor.6:13 and 15, "Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord: and the Lord for the body... know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of the harlot?"

1 Cor.6:16, "Know ye not that he which is joined to a harlot is one body? For two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 17, But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit."

In reference to sin, in any form, especially that sin which is most prominent in our own lives, let us as Christians act as though we do believe the words of God's salvation, and walk the course with eyes opened, ears that hear, and intentions becoming rightious people. Indeed we have been purchased with a price and we must act like it.

(XV) ABOMINATION OR HOLINESS

Each and every one of us has a choice to make.

The believer has this choice, you can choose to walk as one purchased by Christ, or you can choose to walk as if you still were abominable. If you still want to walk in your abominations by the way you live, the way you vote, then be forewarned by the following verses.

Unbeliever be forewarned by the following verses.

Prov.12:28, "The heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness."

Prov.13:19, "It is an abomination to fools to depart from evil."

Prov.14:8, "The folly of fools is deceit."

Prov.14:9, "Fools make a mock at sin."

Prov.14:16, "The fool rageth, and is confident."

James 1:8, "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways."

John 7:49, "But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed."

2 Tim.3:7, "Ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

The word abomination means "extreme hatred, or detestation."
Indeed all sin is an abomination in God's eyes. God hates and detests our sin, but Jesus' has indeed given each an opportunity to be wiped clean.

Each has a choice.

The choice is this:

You calling the shots, resulting in abomination and destruction/hell or,
Jesus Christ calling the shots, resulting in holiness and peace/heaven. Your choice.

Jer.44:4, "Do not this abominable thing which I hate."
