Waiting With Patience

Waiting With Patience:

We have peace with the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ. We must wait with patience for the hope of righteousness and for the justification which comes by faith. The full consummation of justification comes with waiting. Patience connected with justification will conclude in perfection.

2 Timothy 4:8, “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, our righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

Colossians 1:5, “For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel.”

The Holy Spirit enables man to bring forth good fruit to Christ’s glory.

Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

Good fruit is produced by the born again believer, bad fruit by the sinful man. Both represented as trees, each producing their own fruit. Bad seeds produce unfruitful trees; they in turn produce bad fruit.

Men are like wild animals, devouring one another with their lies, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, contempt of the law, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, contentions, jealousy, wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murder, drunkenness, reveling, they that do these things, shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

So who is not bound by the law?

A just man, a God fearing man, a man who is indwelled by the Holy Spirit is not bound by law. This man is set free his desire is to please God. With his whole being he will search the Scriptures daily. With joy, peace, patient, gentleness and consideration for others, he walks with God. When we walk in the Spirit there is no desire to fulfill the lust of the flesh.

1 Peter 1:22, “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently.”

Purification comes from obedience to the truth. Those drawn by the Father will first hear the Gospel message, then by faith their purifying begins, followed by a love for the brethren.

2 Timothy 1:7, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love, and of a sound mind.”

True Christians’ do not have the spirit of cowardice, which is weakness, but have the spirit of power. This power is exhibited in a fearless testimony for Jesus Christ. This gift is given to believers by the Holy Spirit; power to confuse the enemies of Christ; power to support us in our trials and to enable us to do that which is lawful and right in God’s sight.

The whole body soul and spirit become harmonized in all its powers and faculties, regulated and influenced so as to think, speak, and act in a manner parallel to the ways of our Lord and Savior. These are radical powers and dispositions of the mind, each produced by their proper principle.

Ephesians 5:9, “For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth.”

The oldest reading from ancient manuscripts read, “The fruit of the light.” This is contrasted with verse 11, “The unfruitful works of darkness.” As light in verse 8, refers to the Divine influence upon the soul of man and his hearing of the Gospel.

We are to walk as children of light, in all good works and words. The fruit of the light is borne in all goodness as opposed to malice; righteousness, as opposed to covetousness, and truth as opposed to lying.

I would like to thank you all for taking time to read the above. This has been a great inspiration to me and hopefully to all of my Christian brothers and sisters. So what must we do to be saved? Believe by faith on the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work, repent, and be baptized, in the Holy Spirit.
