What Is The Gospel?

What Is The Gospel?

The Gospel is the revelation of the grace of God the Father to a fallen race. It comes through His beloved Son Jesus Christ. The gospel message includes the history of Jesus life, the execution and completion of His finished work, which includes, His death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and perfect teachings.

The word gospel is compounded of two words, “god,” and “good,” and spells a message, or tidings. This corresponding to the Greek which means a, “joyful message,” or, “good news.”

It is the good news of the Father’s grace;

Acts 20:24, “Neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.”

There is the gospel of God’s kingdom. It speaks of our King’s reign, his counsel, and administration, here on earth, and in heaven;

Matthew 6:10, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”

It’s called the gospel of Christ, because He is the author and subject of the good news;

Romans 1:16, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”

There is the gospel of peace and salvation, as it encourages, helps heal man’s anxieties, gives hope, and leads those who follow to eternal glory;

Ephesians 1:12-13, “Who first trusted in Christ. In whom you also trusted, after you have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.”

Ephesians 6:15, Have, “Your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.”

The gospel message as it puts on display, then showcases the perfections of the Father, the Son, and work of the Holy Spirit;

2 Corinthians 4:4, “In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest, the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God (the Father) should shine unto them.”

The gospel, a living breathing entity, designed from eternity past, set and established in time forever. It saving and up-lifting effects felt on all who choose to follow it, and on God’s creation itself;

Revelation 14:6, John write, “I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue and people.”

This is the gospel, the good news of the grace and love of the Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Comforting of their Holy Spirit.
