Satan’s New Plan

Satan Has A New Plan:

The old one was to incite persecution through wars, inquisitions, lies, rumors and murder. But now he has decided to walk with the church and disrupt it with foolish quarrels and questions concerning the written Word.

Recently the Catholic Church has set aside or toned down many of her old ways. Conversion by threat, imprison, torture, jail, war, or death; but finally they have realized the great truths for which she had been the custodian of for many centuries.

For many Catholics the things of the old days, as in the prayers to saints, and to the Virgin Mary though still used, appear not to have the same significance they once had. This may not be true for some, but for others, it is.

Now for those who have been enlightened, these old forms are used only as a shadow of the real, and, if the unlearned forget to see through them, they can be benefited by them to the extent of their ability to receive them.

Though these things remain the Catholic churches weakness, her strength lies in her adherence to the Word of God. Catholics are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ!

Concerning the Protestant church, strife, sects, divisions, and every sort of false doctrine has been drawn into her fold, almost to the point true faith is lost, but not to all.

But now the enemies’ chief efforts have been directed against the Bible itself. If Scripture can be discredited, the enemy will have won. He has decided to destroy faith in the Bible as the Word of God.

His first step was to raise doubt concerning its infallibility. He has taken many translations or parts of them, many varying in form and meaning. They will add, subtract or amend certain passages by changing words that would break off the flow of the meaning, sound or rhythm; also to confuse certain familiar quotations Christians are accustomed to hear.

But recently the devil’s greatest success has been in the line of higher criticism. Atheist, as well as those whose standing is great in the Church have been drawn into this line of higher criticism. Yet there remains many of the faith who hold fast to the Bible as the infallible Word of God; to these, they rightfully reason together and stand strong against these so-called advocates of higher criticism.

If the masses accept the idea that the Scriptures are full of error, myths, legends and old wives’ tales, it will lose all its power, and Satan’s work will be complete.

Now both Catholics and Protestants alike who hold to the doctrines of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Ghost; those who believe by faith in the death, burial and resurrection of their Savior; and that Jesus has sent to us His Holy Spirit who is our comforter and teacher, these men and women alike shall be forever with the Lord in eternity.
