Christian Persecution.

Christian persecution:

History has shown what men are capable of when influenced by superstition, bigotry and prejudice. So the question begs to be asked, “Are Christians’ in America experiencing the first stages of persecution?”

The enemies of the church are becoming bolder, and more influential. They inflict vile words, restricting laws, imprisonment, or even the threat of death, taking it upon them to judge for their own conscience sake, that which is lawful, from that which they consider to be unlawful.

Psalms 52:3, “Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness”

Their presumption is in every way inconsistent with the moral sense of mans nature, and moral approbation, or disapproval, when applied to their own conduct and affections, be it in thought, practice, or actions.

The persecutors of Christianity will follow this pattern of conduct.

1. Their belief is founded on the absurd supposition that one man has the right to judge for another in matters of religion.

2. That the Christian religion must be obstructed, but eventually destroyed should the persecuting principles prevail.

3. That their conduct is in opposition to the fundamental principles of morality. Christian thinking is that we should do to others, as we would reasonably desire others to do to us.

Judges, and political leaders will attempt to silence us by law, pilfer our civil liberties, speech, assembly, participation in government affairs, removing of all religious symbols, or any reminder of Christian principles, eliminate any acknowledgement of God from public places, buildings, schools, and parks. They will attempt to divide denominations, infiltrating our churches with false teaches, demanding that we accept every unethical perversion, force upon us their immoral practices, and the list grows.

For thousands of years, those of faith have fallen prey to this spirit of hate, yet we have overcome by the blood of Jesus Christ, and the work of the Holy Spirit.

There appears to be three types of religious persecution that continually raises its ugly heads.

Mental persecution is when the spirit of man rises up, and malignantly opposes others.

Verbal persecution: When evil men speak mocking words, hateful in its nature, and threatening in design.

Actual, or open persecution, comes by the hands of men; such as bringing men before a court of justice with the forethought of imprisonment, torture or death.

This spirit, and action of persecution against the body of Christ, is the gospel of Satan, and the work of his disciples. Persecution against Christians’ has never won.

Persecution has served to unite those who remained, they growing in strength, insight, and courage. Mightily we fight on for the cause of Jesus Christ, and His Gospel. The Word of God will endure forever.
