Humour: Mars Space Probe Phoenix

Mars space probe Phoenix.

N.S.S.A. Is about to land their Mars space probe know as Phoenix. Many years have passed since its launch. Millions of miles have been traversed through space. Billions of dollars have been spent. Finally the moment of truth has arrived.

The reason for this mission, to find life on other planets. Lets listen in on the control room.

The probe was entering the atmosphere at about 12,000 miles per hour. The numbers coming back on the heat shields were extremely high. Everything was go.

The heat shield had now been ejected, and the rockets fired in order to slow the entry of the probe. As the Phoenix fell into the lower atmosphere of Mars, the parachutes were deployed. Everything was go.

Scientiets around the world were hoping for a soft landing. A voice could be heard saying, “keep your fingers crossed,” another said, “I even have my toes crossed.” The room became quit as the minutes passed. Finally a green light flashed on the boards, “Touch down, we have touch down.”

The room was filled with cheers of joy from the project managers to the janitors. A biology professor who had been monitoring one of the panels said, “Finally we will now prove that life can exist on another planet.”
An air of anticipation filled the room.

Soon after the censers on the probe were activated, green lights flashed across the boards, everything was working perfectly.

The listening ears of great antennas around the world were concentrated on every censer the Phoenix had. This would be a once in a life time event. No second chance. Everything seemed to say go.

Suddenly one of the sound censers began to pick up something. The engineers were attempting to get a better focus on whatever it was. With a few turns of a dial on one of the control panel, the sound became clear as a bell ringing across an ocean of water.

What they heard was amazing, astonishing, scientists and engineers alike stood with their mouths wide open.

This is what they heard.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. etc.”

Hope you enjoyed this bit of humor from yours truly. Hollywood move over, here I come.
