Back To Their Land

The Zionist movement was the first serious attempt to reclaim the land of Israel. It began in 1881, when Jewish immigrants began to return to Palestine from around the world. The waves of immigrants to Palestine were known as “Aliyah,” meaning “To ascend, or to go up.”

The first immigration began in 1881 to 1903; the second wave of immigrants came in 1904, to 1914; the third 1919, 1923; the fourth 1924 to 1931.

From 1881 to 1946, the Jewish population grew in Palestine from 24,000 to 678,000; 230,000 of them were fleeing Nazi Germany.

Israel is sacred to the Jewish people. It was promised to them in the Abrahamic covenant. The covenant rests on God alone, and not to any Jewish action taken by them.

Jewish Zionists purchased thousands of sq. miles of land in Israel from the Arab land owners who were anxious to sell it. The greedy Arabs thought they were exploiting the poor Jews by selling them desolate, desert land that was generally considered worthless, but the Jews bought it anyway.

One Jewish man, Yehoshua Hankin, was responsible for the purchase of 150,000 acres of land in Israel for Jewish settlements. The hard working people, sacrificed, and with ingenuity, transformed a sandy wilderness into fertile farmland, and citrus groves. Cities sprang up, commerce and banking thrived, and roads were constructed. The Arabs who sold the land did not realize they had helped lay the foundations for the restoration of the Jewish state.

Let’s examine some facts about Jerusalem, and the Temple area. In my original post I had discussed the facts that David had purchased the land legally from the owner.

Throughout the past 130 years men like Yehoshua Hankin have gone on to purchase large sections of land from Arab owners, legally.

Now because the Jews were torn out of the land by first the Roman’s, then the Turks, Muslims, and others, this in no way nullifies the legal purchases made by David and others.

The land belongs to God, who gave it to the Jewish people, they being the legal and rightful owners.

Amos 9:14-15,  “I = (God) will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; —- And I will plant them upon their land, and THEY SHALL NO MORE BE PULLED UP  out of their land which I have given them, said the LORD thy God.”

The regeneration for the Jew is yet future. Ver.3,  “Then the LORD thy God will turn = (turn back)  thy = (the Jew’s) captivity, — and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.”

Ver.5. “And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land = (Israel) which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it.”  This is a work in progress. The Jews’ are being drawn from every corner of the earth, this is the promise of our God.

Ver. 6-7, will be fulfilled after the gathering of the Jew’s has been completed.

It is written, “God, will circumcise their hearts, = (destroy their old nature and give them a new nature) and the heart of thy seed (their children,) to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou (the Jew) may live.” — I, “will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.”  When the Jew’s turn to their Messiah, then will God’s blessings be sent forth!

David had numbered the people of Israel. This was not a sin in itself; because Moses had done the same, but Moses did it with the consent of God. David had acted not only independently of such an order, and for the wrong motives. As the king of Israel, he was not to act in pride, or from any ambitious design of conquest. This act was motivated for the purpose of forcing his people into military service.

For this act, David was to pay a high price. It cost the lives of 70,000 Jewish men who died of a plague sent by God. David confessed his sin, and the LORDS anger was stayed. The prophet Gad went to David and told him to go and raise an altar unto the LORD in the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

Araunah was an inhabitant, and citizen of Jerusalem, one of the oldest inhabitants of the land, and having become a convert to the Jewish religion.

Araunah asked King David, why has the king come to me, your servant? David replied, “To buy the threshing floor from you, and to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.”

Araunah offered to give King David the property free, and to take his oxen for a burnt offering, including the threshing instruments, as well as other instruments.

David replied, “Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which costs me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor, and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

David then built an altar unto the LORD, then offered burnt offerings, and peace offerings. The LORD heard and answered David’s prayer, and the land was healed of the plague.

David had witnessed the power of the destroying angel, but he himself was shown mercy. David did as God told him. The threshing floor he was to purchase was on Mt. Moriah, the place of the Wailing Wall. Another 600 shekels of gold was paid in order to purchase the ground around the threshing floor, in order to build the temple. Here is the area on which the temple was to be built by Solomon.

For those who say the temple mount on which the Muslims have built the Dome of the Rock does not belong to the Jews, has little, or no knowledge of the history of the land.  Israel has every right to this property, and land, because it had been purchased for a price, over 3000 years ago. The transaction has been recorded in history for all to see

Now that the people of Israel are being drawn back to Israel by God, the Muslims, will never take back Jerusalem. Why, because now they have to deal with the Captain of the LORD’S host, Jesus Christ. The Dome of the Rock one day will be removed, and the Temple of the Jews will again be built. God said it, He will do it.
