Christianity The Religion Of Access

Christianity The Religion Of Access

Romans 5:2, “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand.”

If we were to ask and then compare this to all other religions of the world, religions that shut everyone out from God; the answer to the question is, Christianity is the only religion of access; all others shut the people out from their gods.

Religions are nothing but a labyrinth of ritual and rites prescribed for public worship. We even see this in many Christian churches. These churches do not provide a door in which to pass, a door that leads to the throne of our Father in heaven.

Even the O.T. saints had no access to God, because the Tabernacle shut them out. There were three entrances, but each was shut off by closed gates. No common man was ever allowed to enter into the Holy of Holies, except for the high priest, and this only once each year.

Even in this there were restrictions put on him. He could enter only with blood according to the specific instructions of Jehovah. We can observe this even in Christ’s earthly ministry where all men were still shut out; that is until Jesus went to the cross and died for the sins of the world.

Matthew 27:51, “And behold the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom.”

Take note of the language we find in Hebrews 4:14-16,

“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not a High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Also,

Hebrews 10:19-22, “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which He hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”
