Heaven is a real place

Heaven is a place, as well as a state, or condition.

John 14:2-3, Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

John states it clearly that heaven is a place. We see Jesus as a man, in His glorified state rise into heaven. The persons of Enoch and Elijah are further proof that heaven is a place.

So where is heaven? This cannot be determined. We have no information in Scriptures concerning this question. Our suppositions are more for the curious, for discussions, more so than for our edification. On this issue of where, we should not speak.

Scriptures tell us that heaven is a place of indescribable Happiness; Blessedness; Joy and Prosperity. The Bible refers to heaven in the following manner,

1. Luke 23:43, “Jesus said unto him, — today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”

2. Revelation 21:23, “The glory of God did lighten (illuminate) it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”

3. 2 Corinthians 5:1, “If our earthly house of this tabernacle (our flesh) were dissolved (destroyed) we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

4. John 14:2, Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many mansions (dwellings:) if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

5. Hebrews 11:16, “Now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for He hath prepared for them a city.”

6. Acts 20:32, “I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.”

7. Matthew 25:34, “Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

8. 2 Timothy 4:8, “there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them that love His appearing.”

9. Psalms 84:11, “The LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.”

10. 2 Corinthians 4:17, “Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”

11. Isaiah 57:2, “The righteous is taken away from the evil to come. He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds.”

12. Hebrews 4:9, “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.”

13. Matthew 25:21, “I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”

Heaven will be a place free from all evil. The souls and spirits of men will be only to honor and serve our Lord.

Revelation 7:17, “The Lamb which is the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.”

1 Corinthians 13:10-12, “when that which is perfect (complete) is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. — For now we see through a glass, darkly (dimly) but then face to face: now I know in par; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”
