Blindness: Walking In The Dark.

Walking In The Dark!

Blindness is often used to express an ignorance of God’s truth.  Jesus said, “I am the truth, and the light.”  Isaiah and Paul express it quite well.

Isaiah 42:18-19, “Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.”

Ephesians 4:17-18, “Walk not as other (fallen) Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind. Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.”

Who is blind? Surely not those who serve the Lord?  Who is deaf? Surely not God’s messengers! Who has hardened themselves against the Lord?  Surely not those who are made perfect in Jesus Christ!

To be blind, is to be without light.

2 Corinthians 4:6, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

Ephesians 2:2, “In time past we walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that walks in the children of disobedience.”

John 3:19, “Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”

All men sin because they are sinners: stubbornness of will; destitute of morals; and lacking understanding; these walk hand and hand with the spirits of destruction.

God’s people are to set their eyes on the Lord. Our God has given abundantly, but men abuse His goodness, living greedily; intoxicated with the world; without control, lazy, numbed by drugs; drunken by strong drink, and lusting one for another.

I saw a man standing, and staring; eyes wide open, but not perceiving or hearing, answering only to his own corrupting idolatrous ways; lethargic, sedate, irrational, refusing to forebear the word of truth. As it was in the days of Noah, it was also in the days of Sodom; and again we have come full circle. Once more will destruction rain down from heaven; and be assured; God is a sure witness against all evil.

Revelation 20:12, “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened.”

“I (John) saw the woman — having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.” Detestable, and lost souls; branding irons prepared for the fire; and God has washed the filth from his hands.
