Do You Trust The Word?

Do You Trust The Word?

I had stopped to speak to a young teenage boy I knew who was standing on the corner of the street. I asked him how he was, and the boy just shrugged his shoulders. “What’s wrong I asked?” After a little prodding, he told me that he was tired of his parents lying to him.

John 3:36, “He that believeth on the Son (Jesus) hath everlasting life, and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life.”

What is it that prevents people from coming to Jesus Christ?  Jesus is not like the parents of the boy, because in him is truth itself. It’s not that the boy didn’t have the strength, or the will to believe his parents, because he did, and more than likely has a deep desire to do so. I say that every man that lives has the power to trust, and believe God.

To tell the truth, there is nothing, nor is there any excuse, nor has there ever been a stumbling stone put before the feet of any person to hinder them from taking that first step toward faith.  So the question remains, “Will they?”

Another question we must ask ourselves, “Can the work of Christ be trusted to save us?”  Yes! He has given us the literal proof through/by His resurrection. All men are given the opportunity to believe and trust. If it were possible to wash from a person’s body, soul, and spirit all the filth of this world, we would find the word of God written on the heart of every man.

Eternal life lies before us; all one has to do is exercise a little faith, and trust. Don’t think God ever sleeps, he doesn’t?  Neither does he have an ear, or eye problem.

A blind man that needs verbal instruction from another person has to have faith and trust in that person. Can the blind man see his instructor? No! Will he believe him? I don’t know!  He will if the one speaking is a person he knows and trusts, than of course the answer is yes.

So I would suppose that the faith one has in another depends on the veracity of that person.  To have the understanding but not the will of what saving faith is may be compared to a man that has the knowledge and skills to build a magnificent home, but he won’t get out of bed.  Therefore all his knowledge won’t do him or anyone else any good.

Think of the Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit as a bank. In that bank you have an account, not money, but plenty of grace. All anyone has to do is go to the bank, and make a withdrawal. But if you don’t get out of bed, go to the bank and make a withdrawal, all the grace in heaven won’t help you one bit.

God’s grace is a free gift, it will breath life into your spiritually dead body.

1 John 5:9, “If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of His Son.”  Ver.11, “For this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and is life is in His Son.”

“He that hath the Son hath life.” Truth coming from the lips of Jesus Christ is not a creed or doctrine, but the truth is Jesus Christ Himself. The evidence and proofs lie in the pages of the Bible. Never, in 6000 years has God broken a promise to any man. In this statement lies the quicksand, the death sentence for those who stand on any and every excuse they can raise for not believing.

So let no man ever say they cannot believe. What your eyes and ears take into your heart will mold, then form your thoughts concerning the honesty, and integrity of Jesus Christ, and the instruction of His written word.
