Personal Positions Concerning Religion ARE WE SO BUSY DEFENDING OUR OWN POSITION THAT WE HAVE BECOME DEAF TO THE POSITION OF OTHERS? I believe this is something for all of us to consider. I am as guilty of this as anyone on this forum. When we fall into this mold, this snare, there appears in our writting and thinking, a bias against the word of God. We treat the Scriptures as if they were buck shot, put them into a scatter gun, point at anything, hit something and then believe we are good shots. Do the same with a single bullet, and then attempt to hit a specified target, it becomes much more difficult. So also does it become more difficult to hit the target when we put aside our scatter gun of personal feeling, thoughts, and teaching in order to determine what it is God is attempting to say or to teach us.
