Masoretic Text & Textus Receptus

Gen.1, In The Beginning
"In The Beginning."

"Ex buguki buguk fut." From nothing, nothing comes." This is a maxim which leads one to an infinite intelligence; God, the maker of all things.

Unlike pagan myths, philosophies, and theories, the Scriptures give a plain, simple, and concise account of creation. The Scripture bears the stamp of truth, and gives to the mind a just, elevated view of God.

Genesis does not exclude the idea that angels, principalities, and powers were created ages before the heavens and earth. The Bible presents and informs people of the Almighty who is producing and bringing to perfection in great majesty and goodness, the heavens and the earth, in six literal days.

Examine the following three words, "In the beginning."

The Hebrew word "In," as a preposition, or as a prefix. As a preposition, "in" means present or enclosed, surrounded by limits, as, in a house, in a mall, in a city. It also denotes a state of being mixed, as when sugar is mixed with water, or as heat is in air.

In Gen.1, the word appears to imply present in time, as in that hour or day. "In the beginning," or some translate it without the article "the," as "In beginning." Regardless, the idea of the word "In" means at the present time. Specifically, "IN" implies, at that present time, this hour, minute and very moment. "In" is limited by the word "beginning." Therefore, when God spoke His first words in the beginning, time began.

"The" is definitive, an adjective used to define or limit the extent of the signification of a common noun. For example, "tree" is a common noun. With the indefinite article, "a" this could refer to any tree.

Now if we were to replace the definitive article "a" with "The" in front of "Tree" it is now referred to as "That tree, the tree, or this tree." "The" point to a particular tree, one that has been designated, determined and known. The word kings points to many kings, but, "The King," points to a particular king, as Jesus is, "The King of kings."

The last word of this study is the word "beginning." The Hebrew is rai-shith, whereas the Greek is, "arche" meaning spoken of time, as the beginning, or commencement of time. Also from the beginning of all things, from everlasting, from the beginning of any particular thing, such as:

1. The beginning of the gospel dispensation.
2. The beginning of a Christian experience.

It sometimes speaks of persons, the first primus, as,

1. "The first and the last,"
2 "The beginning and the end."

The word beginning also speaks of dignity, the first place, power, or dominion. It gives to the reader a sense of preeminence, precedence, or princedom.

Also in the abstract, the word "Beginning" refers to rulers, magistrates, princes, and persons of influence and authority, or civil rulers. The beginning, or first power, speaks of the princes or chiefs among angels, demons, and the powers of the other world.

The word "beginning," gives the idea of the commencement, or beginning of things as we know them. There have been attempts made to take the word beginning to mean the everlasting past, eternity past. Not so. The word beginning has the idea of a starting point, and eternity past has no beginning.

To summarize,

The word "In," leads us to the exact moment in a specific time frame, designated by the Creator. "In" points to the word beginning, implying it was THE ONLY BEGINNING, clear and exact in all determinations.

The word specifies to us that at the very moment, and the very first words spoken by God, time began. Hence the evening and morning of the first day, a literal 24 hour period.

Looking through the eyes of science, the earth appears old, and seems to test old when modern date techniques were used. Fossil records also seem to prove older ages through certain date techniques.

So the question is, has God given incorrect information? Are the events and descriptions of the six days of creation in Gen. 1, inaccurate? Look at a few verses of Scripture with me.

Job 38:4, here the Lord is reprimanding Job and his three associates for giving bad counsel. God said, "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding."

Job 40:2, "Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? He that reproveth God, let him answer it."

We should all read and hear the words of God. First as a warning, then as a lesson in humility. Some sciences combined with the teaching of evolution cast doubt into the minds and eventually the hearts of believers, and surely those who do not believe.

Question; Does God need the help of science to upgrade Biblical teachings? Of course not. Man's pride is the sin of the Devil. Men have always strived to prove God a liar.

Do we need to prove God and His creation? Or are we to believe by faith? Ask yourself, where were you when the Lord laid the foundations of the world? Where are the writings of those who witnessed the creation? There are none. The Scriptures are the only reliable source, and they have it right.

Evolution, Gap theories, creation, and evolving creation, are lies. Satan, through his disciples, perpetrates the lies by producing false evidence and various deceptions, which give way to certain babbling. Some sciences and many Bible teachers contradict the idea of God creating over a six day period.

Scientific information is always in a constant state of change. Science that was once taught as the truth now becomes outdated, and is soon replaced by updated numbers. Theories are always evolving, or being recycled. False Bible teachings come and go, and then reappear again over the ages.

"And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day." God created in six days and rested on the seventh day.
