The Bible Is Inspired Of God

The Bible Is Inspired Of God:

Many wise and righteous men throughout all generations, those of different races and from every corner of the world, have agreed to receive the Scriptures as the Divine word and revelation of the Almighty. The Jews have unquestionably in all ages acknowledged the Scriptures of the Old Testament (O.T.) as the Word of God; and Christians from the earliest years to the present time, have not been less wise in testifying to their belief in the inspiration of both the Old and New Testament.

The writers of The Bible expressly claim Divine inspiration; and without hesitation and unequivocally assert the Scriptures are the Word. All the prophets in the O.T. speak clearly of themselves, and their predecessors as declaring not their own words, but God’s Word.

2 Samuel 23:1-2, “Now these be the last words of David. —- The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and his word was in my tongue.”

Nehemiah 9:20, “Thou (God) gave also thy good Spirit to instruct them.”

Psalms 19:7-11, “The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. – Moreover by them (God’s judgments, and righteousness) is thy servant warned.”

Isaiah 8:20, “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”

Also, Jeremiah 20:7-9, 25:3-4, 29:12-19, Ezekiel 1:1-3, 38:16-17,

Daniel 9:12, “And he (God) hath confirmed His words which he spoke against us.” Micah 38-12.

Zechariah 1:5-6, “But my (God’s) words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets.”

Our Lord purposes things; the things He purposes are not things for us to consider, but are to be adopted by us. Scriptures do not leave us the alternative of receiving or rejecting them; they do not present us with their own thoughts, but explain, “Thus said the LORD,” and on that ground do Christians claim their approval.

The apostles and writers of the N.T. also speak respecting the prophets of the O.T, as holy men of God, “who spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

2 Peter 1:19-21, “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto you do well that you take heed.”

Hebrews 1:1-2, “God who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken unto us by his Son.

These writings are expressly declared to be “The oracles of God,”

Revelation 3:2. And it is declared that “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

The Lord Jesus himself expressly recognizes them as the infallible Word of God, and of Divine authority Matthew 4:4-11, 7:5- 41-42, 15:1-14, 22:29-32,

John 5:39-47, “Search the scriptures; for in them you thing you have eternal life: — But if you believe not his (God’s) writings, how shall you believe my (Jesus) words?”

The writers of the N.T. also adopt language which in its most obvious meaning, claim their own instructions as to they being God inspired; and they also witness, affirm and sanction one another’s writings in the most unequivocal manner. Any honest student whether Christian or not must admit the devotion and truthfulness of the writers, which we have seen is absolutely unimpeachable, and must conclude that all the Scriptures are the inspired and infallible word of God.
