Salvation Brings Peace

Salvation Brings God’s Peace:

The cross of Jesus Christ has provided many things for us one of these wonderful gifts is, “peace!”

Romans 5:1, “Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Peace seems to be an impossible thing in the world in which we live; elusive and seeming to be made for heaven alone.  Man’s idea of peace lies largely in the realm of the psychological, and not in any love they have for God.

So what lies at the root of our trouble? Is it the unrest in America, the Middle East; our need for oil, gold, jobs, food? No! The root of our trouble lies in the hearts of men, Since Adam, mankind has been at war with God.

Romans 3:11-17-18, “There is none that understandeth, there is none that seek after God. — but the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their (men’s) eyes.”

It’s easy to relate to the lack of peace in a drug addict as he lies on some lonely street corner dying of an overdose; or a drunkard on a curb sitting in his own vomit. But there is also a common enemy to peace, one that can be found in the godless ideologies of our universities, in our hall’s of congress, and in the immoral decisions handed down from our justices.

Man in his heart is an enemy of God! But Jehovah is not the enemy of man; but is the enemy of sin! So where can God’s peace be found?

We can find it under the broken body of our Savior as He hung from the cross. Through his tortured body and shed blood, He alone has made peace for us. And only from the knowledge that our sins have been forgiven can we secure this peace.

Peace is a gift from the Father and Son. The choice is ours to make, “Will you receive it, or will you reject it?”

And yet another gift has been attached to God’s offering of peace, its eternal life! Every man, women and child of us longs for peace. Will we reach for the peace men offer, or that offered by God? Peace is what every human heart longs for, and the thing God freely offers. The invitations have been sent, so all you need to do is reach out and take it, than let God’s Holy Spirit begin His work of restoration in you!
